A Message from Jeff...
Update: Thanks for your faithful prayers and kind cards that have helped encourage me while recovering from my recent heart attack. Johnnie and I really appreciate your support. I will be gradually returning to full activities in the coming weeks. This Sunday I will bring a message "A Church of Priorities" as we draw closer to our 50th Anniversary Celebration on October 3.
Remember: Sunday, October 3 Breakfast/Fellowship @ 9:30 a.m.
Combined Worship Service @ 10:30 a.m.
If you haven't made your 50th Anniversary Dinner reservation yet for Sunday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m., please take care of it today. Looking forward to a great celebration together!
Worry Accomplishes Nothing
"Worry is like a rocking chair. It will give you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere."
Worry is an exercise in futility. It's a waste! God only knows the total hours that have been exhausted worrying about things that never came to pass. "The biggest troubles you face are those that never come." Our minds seem to gravitate naturally to envisioning the worst-case scenario and it just isn't healthy."
Certain personality types are more prone to worry. Our daughter Jennifer was very young when she and Johnnie were in a fender bender. The female teen driver began to cry when she saw the car seat, "Oh, you have a little girl in there! Are you all right?"
Jennifer looked back at the distraught driver and said, matter of factly, "It looks like you're going to need a new car." She's going to worry less than most people. We all need to learn to just let some things roll off of us.
"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6:27
